Markings From A Post Age

Bicycle, spray paint, GPS
2006
Street Installation, Video

Deriving from the concept of cave paintings and marking ones terrain with scenes of familiar life. Visions of sacred animals are now visions of our violent gun culture. Urban streets now replace the rocks and caves and an augmented spray paint dispensing bicycle replaces the pre-historic pigments.

These drawings span two neighborhoods in the Miami and Miami Beach area. The size of the drawings will be a factor for the future documentation of the artwork. As the expansion and popularity of satellite imagery programs (i.e. Google Earth) will eventually record the street drawings.
