Street Installation, Video

Deriving from the concept of cave paintings and marking ones terrain with scenes of familiar life. Visions of sacred animals being hunted are now the visions of our violent gun culture. Urban streets now replace the rocks and caves and an augmented spray paint dispensing bicycle replaces the pre-historic pigments.

These drawings span two neighborhoods in the Miami and Miami Beach area. The size of the illustrations will be a factor for the future documentation of the artwork as the expansion and popularity of satellite imagery programs (i.e. Google Earth) will eventually record the street drawings. Just as present anthropologists discover and examine the markings placed upon structures from past societies for insight on cultural importance, the inscriptions we leave today will describe what this civilization cherished and feared the most.
