Rubber Cast, DC Motor, Gear Train, Pencil, Paper
2005
6" x 8.5" x 12"

The motor coupled alongside a gearbox and gear train completes one rotation every six days, turning the shaft and accompanying paper at the same rate. The rubber cast hand pressing against the paper with its embedded colored pencil then creates a perfect blue circle in the same six days. Perhaps not the most academic design, but it does independently create an object previously inexistent. It is the circle's creator. Reminiscent of the debated six-day construction of our own blue earth. Arguably conceived by an equally semi-intelligent designer.
