Ivan and Matthew VS. Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant

Wood, D.D. Motor, Battery, Stereo, Light
2003
Installation 18'x 5' x 5'
In collaboration with Matthew Cox

We were given the chance to make an on-site installation in Homestead Florida, very close to the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant. In fact the space we were given was just across the bay from the power plant that generates 1,400 million watts of electricity and supplies energy to about 450,000 homes. We thought about other sources of energy, and decided to try powering our own city with the most archaic method, wind. The anti-state-of-the-art windmill structure creates enough energy to power light and prerecorded sounds of the city, giving life to the street grid of
Miami-Dade within the body of the windmill.
